Non-Associated Multi Employer ("NAME") Schemes: Trustee training seminar

Hogan Lovells and PwC are hosting a trustee training seminar together aimed at NAME Scheme Trustees.

Trustees of NAME Schemes face a number of issues that trustees of other pension schemes do not. Our training seminar offers a comprehensive look at those differences with a focus on how they operate in practice and the impacts on the role of trustees.

The topics covered will include:
  • The role of the trustee body in NAME Schemes including issues of confidentiality and conflicts;
  • How having employers who are non-associated impacts the dynamic;
  • What special legislation applies to NAME Schemes;
  • Why are NAME Schemes typically more litigious than other types of pension scheme and how can you minimise litigation risks;
  • What should the approach be to funding NAME Schemes, including how the Pensions Regulator approaches the funding regime and examples of different approaches to Recovery Plans;
  • How to assess the employer covenant for NAME Schemes;
  • Section 75 debts in NAME Schemes and employer withdrawals.
The session will include two interactive case studies to give participants an insight into how these issues play out in practice.

Target audience

This training seminar is aimed at trustees of NAME Schemes looking to build up their knowledge and those who are considering a trustee role in a NAME Scheme. In addition, pensions managers or other employees who work with NAME Schemes and are interested in understanding more about how these schemes operate are also welcome.
