The Digital Services Act Package, including the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act, is a major reform of the regulation of online businesses operating in the EU or offering services in the EU. The legislative proposals for the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act will be hotly debated throughout 2021 as the Digital Services Act Package makes its way through the legislative process, given its ambitious scope, the range of services potentially affected (social media platforms, online marketplaces and search engines) and the fact the proposed rules are intended to cover any digital services, whether or not based in the EU, where activities or services are aimed at EU consumers.

Our dedicated cross-practice and multi-jurisdictional global Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act taskforce is closely tracking the progress of the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act including our technology regulation and policy, intellectual property, consumer and contracts, data protection and competition lawyers. In addition to keeping you abreast of developments, we can help you work out the impact of the proposed new rules on your business and provide you with strategic advice on how to adapt.
