As a senior associate in our Finance practice, Marina Bride Soares focuses on asset finance, with particular emphasis on the aviation sector. She regularly advises financiers, borrowers, lessors, and airlines in relation to a broad range of cross-border transactions, including PDP, loan and lease financings, aircraft portfolio migrations, sale and leasebacks, split ownership arrangements, joint ventures, and export credit structures. She has also been involved in general banking and restructuring matters.
Marina undertook a secondment to the Project & Export Finance team at HSBC Bank plc in London from September 2012 to March 2013.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Marina began her career in Frankfurt am Main as an intern and, subsequently, as a project finance transaction lawyer, spending two years working for a leading international law firm before joining the asset finance team at another major law firm in Frankfurt where she advised major German airlines.
Marina is a Brazilian national and uses her international background to assist clients in different jurisdictions around the world.

Acting for a low-cost airline on the U.S. ExIm-backed loan and bond financing of 2x B737 and 2x B787 aircraft.
Acting for an offshore leasing company on its U.S. ExIm-backed bond financing of 2x B777 aircraft.
Acting for an investment fund on the acquisition of a number of airframes under split ownership joint venture arrangements with engine financing companies.
Acting for an investment fund on the purchase of 4x B747 aircraft and 14x engines for subsequent part out and teardown.
Advising a major global bank on the acquisition of €3.2 billion aviation loan portfolio from a German bank.
Advising financiers in relation to a number of corporate jet financings and disposals.
Acting for HSBC (as Co-ordinating MLA) and others in relation to multi-source ECA-backed financings for development of a portfolio of wind farms across Ireland.
