Hogan Lovells appoints new Board members

LONDON and WASHINGTON, D.C., 1 June 2020 - Hogan Lovells has elected or re-elected the following four partners to serve on its Board –Joaquín Ruiz Echauri, Celine Jimenez Crowson, Bruce Oakley and Mahvesh Qureshi. Board members can serve up to two terms, each lasting three years.

  • Joaquín Ruiz Echauri has been re-elected to the Continental Europe seat
  • Celine Jimenez Crowson has been elected to The Americas seat
  • Bruce D. Oakley has been elected to the U.S. (except DC) seat
  • Mahvesh Qureshi has been elected to the 45 and under seat

The Hogan Lovells Board comprises 12 members and supervises the affairs of the firm and its management on behalf of the partners. Many partner related matters, such as partner compensation, opening of offices, appointment of new partners and a number of financial decisions require approval by the Board. The Board does not, however, have executive responsibility for strategy, management or operating decisions which are vested with the CEO and the IMC. Membership of the Board is designed to reflect the broad scope of the business, with members drawn from a variety of geographic and other backgrounds.

Biographical details on new Board members:

Celine Jimenez Crowson is a first chair patent litigator and a founding member of the firm's IPMT practice group who currently heads up the IPMT team in the Americas.  She has a technical background in electrical engineering and has worked with many of the firm’s major clients, including handling scores of patent litigations for major Auto OEMs, and working with Big Four technology companies in multiple patent litigations in the mobile technology space, with a foremost maker of jet engines, and with a major chemical company in litigation regarding its packaging, auto and industrial coatings.  Celine is an active member of our Automotive and Mobility and Diversified Industrials Industry Sector Groups and over the last two years served on the firm’s U.S. National Diversity Committee.  Outside of the firm, Celine previously served as a member of the Board of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Greater D.C. Area and she continues to support the organization today.

Mahvesh Qureshi, based in Washington D.C, sits in our M&A and private equity teams and is a member of the firm's Global Tech M&A Leadership Team and Global Private Equity Leadership Team.  She routinely counsels clients on a range of U.S. and cross-border transactions including mergers and acquisitions, bolt-on acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, joint ventures, and investments.  Her clients include corporations (from large multi-nationals to emerging growth companies) and strategic and financial investors (private equity and venture-based) in a variety of industry sectors including technology, consumer, aerospace, defense, government services, diversified industrials, and health care.  Mahvesh's commitment to global issues has led her to a number of extensive corporate governance pro bono representations, including representation of Girl Rising, a global campaign for girls' education and empowerment.
